BTEC Level 2 - Unit 35- P2

BTEC Level 2
 Unit 35
P2

Nursery Flyer
For a nursery flyer i would suggest bitmap and vector by using Microsoft publisher because there may be images and text on the flyer so you need bitmap and vector. A flyer will certainly have text on it explaining stuff about the nursery, so will need a vector file type. A flyer may also need images to make it more appealing so this is why a bitmap file type would be needed. Publisher is a good software for flyers because it provides both images and text.

Band Logo
The logo could be created in Adobe Illustrator, but it would be exported as a bitmap. The bitmap makes a smooth image and is best for lines and text plus Illustrator allows you to use text and images. The logo will need smooth lines and vector will provide that much more better than a bitmap.

Builders Van Text
For a builders van text i would suggest vector adobe Illustrator. The vector creates a smooth image even when enlarged. There is also with a range of colors and text. It is best used for text, compared to bitmap so would be the best file type. Illustrator has a wide range of fonts which would create an very attractive text for the side of the van.

BTEC Level 2 – Unit 35 – Task 1 – M1

                                              BTEC Level 2 – Unit 35 – Task 1 – M1

Input Devices

SAMSUNG WB150F Advanced Compact Digital Camera - White - £149.99
A limitation with a camera is that the lighting could affect a picture, they could also break really easily. There could be lighting issues and are quite brittle so break easily. A good camera can be really expensive and you may have to buy add ons for the camera. (e.g. a memory card or good case to protect it.) another limitation to this camera is if the lighting isn't good, the picture will not be good and the picture may show up with pixels if you were to do stuff with them.

HP Officejet 7500A Wireless All-in-One Inkjet Printer
A limitation with a scanner is that it might not be able to link up to your computer and the picture might not be of great quality. The ink for a printer is more expensive than others and the ink runs out quite quickly. You also need to buy paper and if it is wireless then it maybe hard when connecting it to your computer. They can also be quite big and heavy. A limitation to the printer is that if you wanted to print out different sizes of paper you will not be able to print it out. (e.g. you will not be aloud to print out an a3 sheet of paper.) Also the thickness of the paper may vary on what you are able to print.  also printers cannot print right to the edge of the paper and may cut off bits of your work on the side, which is also a limitation. the scanner may also get fingerprints on the screen if you dont clean it which may show up on your work.

Output devices

HP Pro 6300 All-in-One - £595
A limitation with a computer is that you could suffer from viruses or might not work properly (e.g. it could crash). A computer can be very expensive and might not always give full control it it is unresponsive. If you are designing something, what you can do could be limited depending on your programs available on the computer.

HP Pro 6300 All-in-One - £595
A limitation with a monitor could be that it can break and can be expensive to fix, there are also many wires that could tangle and break. it can also be very frustrating and an eye sore to set up.

Adobe creative suite master collection CS6 - £453
A limitation with these accessories is that it would be very expensive to buy. You do not also receive full control of what you are doing.

HP Officejet 7500A Wireless All-in-One Inkjet Printer - £57.99
A limitation with a printer could be that the ink might run out very easily and is expensive to replace, you will also need to top up on paper and both paper and ink can be expensive.

Accessories

Microsoft Wireless Desktop 800 USB Mouse and Keyboard Set. - £29.99
A limitation with this is that it might not connect to the computer so you would have problems with it, or it might disconnect during an important presentation. the keys may also become stuck and be unresponsive.
